My Story

UPDATE: Thank you to all who have helped me smash my target. In a bid to get the total up even further I will now be throwing myself out of an aeroplane. If you meant to donate to my page but got distracted, fear not as I will be pestering you again over the forthcoming weeks. Please find out a little about the cause below...

I am a lazy, lazy man - that much is true.

However, the people in my life who have fought, and who are still fighting their battles with cancer provide more motivation and inspiration than this man could ask for to dust off his running shoes and step back on that treadmill.

Over the last few years this terrible disease has found it's way into the lives of several loved ones - my siblings, cousin and I very sadly lost our nan in 2017, and just recently a good friend of mine was tragically taken away just days after his 30th birthday - far, far too young. However, due to modern medicine I also still get to spend quality time with grandparents that I might not otherwise have had, and get to hold on to hope for another close friend and his family who are going through an incredibly testing time right now.

Although it doesn't always turn out the way we want it to, it is a privilege that in this country we can be given the option to fight against cancer. Many families around the world do not have access to the healthcare or the finances required to make such a choice, and it is increasilgly tragic the younger the patients are.

This is why I am asking you to support me in raising money for World Child Cancer who work with communites and hospitals all over the world to provide medical, financial and emotional support to families who have found themselves in the awful position of having to care for a child with cancer.

Last year it was the head shave so I thought I'd better put some effort into this year's cause! The support I received then was incredibe, and I'm eternally grateful in advance to anyone who can help me smash my target once again this year.
