We're running 5km through the City dressed as Santas in support of World Child Cancer. Any donations would be very much appreciated and every donation made will be doubled by the UK government through World Child Cancer's current UK Aid Match appeal which will allow them to start working in Nepal next year.
Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. If the illness is detected early enough, many of these children can be cured. As many as 80% of children with cancer in the developed world survive. However, in developing countries, survival rates can be as low as 10%, and almost 90% of the world’s children live in these resource-limited settings.
World Child Cancer support local health care leaders and parents support groups to work together to develop sustainable services, to provide treatment safely and to support families in a holistic way for their child to complete treatment. This investment in local services also brings wider benefits for children with all types of health care needs in the hospitals and communities where are projects are based
